First printed in 1985, Training the Competitive Working Dog was the first book on Schutzhund by an American author. For years it was the standard reference for American Schutzhund trainers. It covers the three phases of Schutzhund (now called Versatility Dog), as well as choosing a dog, equipment, the training environment, and drives important in working dogs.
