The back of the Detection box has mounting brackets so that it can be placed on a rack. It is suggested to use 5 boxes for detection training in the beginning. One box will be "hot" (contain narcotics) and four will be "distraction boxes" (empty). You should always use the same box for each scent to keep from cross contamination of the odors. Meaning the marijuana box is only used for marijuana and the cocaine box is only used for cocaine an so forth.For example,if you were going to add a new second odor, then you would need another new box that never had odor in it. The distraction boxes will never have reward odor in them and the dog is never rewarded from the distracion boxes.The dog only gets paid (rewarded) from where he smells the target odor (drugs,explosives, cadaver,etc.)

The narcotics are kept in a stash area, which is located at the bottom of the box. The stash area is accessed from the back of the detection box. The removable door is screwed down for security and the dogs safety.

The stash area has holes on the inside and outside of the box to emit the odor. A) Scent holes on the outside are exposed when the plexiglas door is open or closed. B) Scent holes on the inside are not exposed until the door is open.
