Protection Training on the Tie-Out Pole

The training in this video shows ways to create balanced drive levels. It demonstrates how to transition clearly between aggression and prey drive. It also shows how to build grips and increase aggression in the guarding phase while maintaining handler control. Training on the tie-out pole gives both the hander and helper the best advantage to build a solid foundation of drive and control. The helper can work on grip development and aggression after the out without having to be concerned with the handler and dog moving from their original position. The handler can help his dog to transition from obedience to active aggression as he does not have to be concerned about holding the back-tie line in place. Several dogs of different temperaments are worked, all with varying needs. Whenever a specific area in training needs to be addressed it is always good to "Put'em back on the pole".
