Detailed Description

K-9 Cooling Vests' Replacement Cooling Packs

Replacement cooling packs. Choose from Medium, Large and XL.

There are several methods to charge the cooling packs.

Ice & Water
For in-field use, the quickest method to energize the Canine Cool Vest packs is to submerge the packs in a suitable container filled with plenty of ice and water.
Submerge the packs flat for 10 to 15 minutes until they are solid white. In a few minutes, you will see the clear liquid inside the packs change to a semi-solid, white, waxy substance. In approximately 15 - 20 minutes, the packs should be totally charged and ready for use. Now, insert the charged packs in the fabric carrier, closing each side appropriately. Adjust the vest around the dog's body and secure to the Velcro for a comfortable but snug fit.

Refrigerator or Freezer
You can also energize the UniPaks by laying them flat on a refrigerator or freezer shelf. Energizing in a refrigerator or freezer may require more time than the quick ice and water method. If you stack several packs on top of one another, the charge time may require several hours when using refrigeration or freezing.
Once charged. . . the packs will initially feel stiff. After a few minutes, the packs will begin to soften and form to the dog's body as they absorb the excess heat from the dog's body. Your canine will acclimate quickly to its comfortable temperature. Packs may be energized thousands of times . . . and with proper care, will last for years, providing the canine with "optimum temperature" comfort and heat stress relief.

Cleaning & Long-Term Storage:
You may store the canine cool packs in a refrigerator for use at a moment's notice.
  • It is preferred to hand wash the fabric carrier in mild soap and warm water and lay flat or air dry.
  • Do not dry fabric carrier in a hot dryer as hot temperatures may cause the hook and loop velcro to crimp and curl.
  • Do not use bleach or abrasive chemical cleansers on the fabric carrier.
  • It is unnecessary to dry clean the fabric carrier.
  • Do not roll, ball or crimp packs or fabric carrier when storing.
  • Packs bladder is "medical grade" proprietary vessel (400% stretch w/excellent memory) that repels bacteria, grime and microbes. You may wash the pack with soap and water or any normal household cleanser. In most circumstances, the pack does not require washing.
