The toggle is designed to help you slip the collar on and off easily, but it does not secure the collar in place. If the collar is worn without a leash attached, it can loosen during movement and may slip over the dog’s head—especially if the dog shakes or backs up.

For safety and proper use, we always recommend clipping a leash to the live ring when your dog is wearing a toggle chain collar.
